The name of Billund has been with me since 1977. It was on all my Lego Boxes. Since it was 1977, we only had globes and encyclopedias. Billund was not considered to be important enough to be included in either.

In 1993 I was touring Europe with a friend, we got to a point where she had two more weeks than I had and she also wanted to go East from Germany. I wanted to go West. When we split up I toyed with going to Billund, until I discovered how difficult it would be to get to and then to London, on the budget I had.

I really became interested in going there when the Lego Company built the Lego House, and had the six brick injection molding machine in it.
